The house we rented in New York had a post which came very handy when we started working on the inquisition video. We found a lot of constrution materials in the basement, many very rusty and nasty looking and out of one of them we made a tourniquet. It was so simple, so clever and so nasty looking. It became the center piece for the first part of the video. Gabrielle was the first to get a taste of it during the rehearsals.

After Gabrielle was whipped for a long time, two days to be exact, we moved on to the next torture and JJ placed her delicate neck on the contraption. She looked great with her bald head and the metal around her neck.

The Tourniquet is a Spanish contribution to horror and torture. It was widely used during the Spanish Inquisition and the conquest of the Americas.

The wife of the Indigenous leader, Tupac Amaru, was killed with the help of the tourniquet. (He was dismembered by horses pulling his limbs in different directions.)

It consists of a pole with an iron neckbrace to fit the neck of the accused. Once the neck is in place, the hands are bound behind the pole. Sometimes the victim would be sitting, other times the unfortunate would be standing.

By turning a contraption, the tourniquet closes around the victims neck and slowly asphyxiates her, or him. Depending of the mood of the executioner, the death can be quick...or slow.

Melissa's ordeal had just begun. She thought it was over, when she was released from her bonds, but the brutal flogging was only a warm-up exercise for her torturer.
